The high school art room in southwestern
Pennsylvania was the haven of safety, new possibilities and empowerment
for Janet Greer . It was here that her love of ceramic art was planted. Over
the next thirty five years Janet raised a large family, finding
opportunities to continue her education and teach middle through high
school aged children, in public schools, home school groups or through church or scouting groups. Creativity in the classroom was always necessary.
With
the opportunity now to unleash creative passions long held in check,
Janet is thoroughly enjoying exploring options in the world of ceramic
art not possible previously. Although
her emphasis at this time is thrown, functional pottery, she loves new
methods and techniques that enable new possibilities.
Currently, Janet is working on her B.A. at Hood College, in Frederick, MD, and is the president of the ceramics club on campus. She is employed as the undergraduate studio tech at the college. She is a member of the Potters Guild of Frederick.
